Aceclofenac and Drotaverine is a combination medication used to relieve abdominal pain and cramps. It combines an anti-inflammatory drug with a smooth muscle relaxant to target both the pain and the underlying muscle spasms. Description of Components and Mechanism

• Aceclofenac: This is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) in the body that cause pain, inflammation (swelling), and fever.
• Drotaverine: This is an antispasmodic medicine. It works directly on the smooth muscles of the stomach, intestines, and urinary tract by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE-4), which leads to muscle relaxation and relief from contractions or spasms. 

UsesThe combination is primarily prescribed for conditions involving smooth muscle spasms and associated pain, including: 

• Abdominal pain and cramps (colic)
• Menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea)
• Pain associated with kidney stones (renal colic) or gallstones (biliary colic)
• Musculoskeletal pain with spasms (e.g., back pain)

This tablet combines the therapeutic benefits of:

Mechanism of Action

Dosage

As directed by the physician. Usually, one tablet twice daily after meals, or as prescribed.
